Pinehurst No. 2 couldn't be redesigned. It was Ross' masterpiece and Coore and Crenshaw have no intention of undoing his work. They're tasked with revealing it. The course will play in the same way it has - only with more options into the greens. It's not a redesign. It's not a renovation. It's not even a restoration. It's a return to the 1935-62 era - when, as Ben Crenshaw put, "Pinehurst garnered most of its reputation." See Ben and Bill talk about it at http://www.youtube.com/Pinehurst1895

Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore have been tasked with fixing up the course, Coore saying: "It is not our intent to radically change this golf course. We're trying to uncover it, not recover it. In short, we'll bring the strategy back and reinstate its character."
